Revision as of 13:50, 2 August 2023
Like Yume Nikki and its many fangames, Someday has multiple events, ranging from minor special interactions to cutscenes that can permanently change some mechanics in the game once seen. This article lists many of these events, their locations and the steps required to trigger them. Many of the events of this game also unlock Feats.
Note that the article doesn't list every event in the game, focusing only on the most remarkable ones from the perspective of wiki users.
Alley Chase
For the associated feat, see: Stranger.
Location: City
Description: There's a graffitied "SLEEP" in the room from the Sewers that leads to the City. There's a 1/5 (determined upon going to sleep, note that if going to that room in the same dream session that the 4-leaf clover was interacted with, the chance is 1/2 instead) chance that the graffiti will be oozing a strange green substance, when in this state interacting with it will lead to a series of dark yet broad alleys with strange graffiti painted on them, the path will eventually lead into a long, claustrophobic hallway with fast music that accelerates as Itsuki progresses through the hallway. If Itsuki stops moving or is not using the Scooter effect, he will get caught by the Stranger and trapped in an island in the Grassland World, but if he manages to make it to the end of the path he will return safely to the City.
Escaping the Stranger unlocks the Stranger feat.
Are you Kondo?
For the associated feat, see: Kondo (feat).
Location: Glitch World
Description: It is possible to see Kondo sitting behind her desk somewhere in the Glitch World. Under normal conditions interacting with her will make her ask Itsuki "Are you Kondo?". However, interacting with her with the Glitch effect on will make her say "Yes, it's him." instead, after which an error noise will play and Itsuki will wake up with the sound of a computer turning off.
Kondo speaks in English and her lines are exactly the same in every translation of the game.
Talking to Kondo with the Glitch effect on unlocks the Kondo feat.
Bad Omen
For the associated feat, see: On Fire.
Location: Rain World
Description: After killing all five Clockworkers in the Clock Tower, the music there will stop, the background lines will turn pitch black, Bun will dissappear and the world will take a darker tint. In this state, Itsuki can't open the menu or wake up, so the only thing to do is returning to the Rain World, where it's no longer raining, the exit to Lava World will be inaccessible and the Raincoat effect will be replaced by a flaming tree. Interacting with this tree will gradually darken the screen as a sound similar to a reversed explosion plays, this sound cuts abruptly at the end as the screen turns pitch black and Itsuki wakes up afterwards.
Seeing this event unlocks the On Fire feat.
Blackout
Location: Itsuki's Bedroom
Description: There's a 1/32 chance that, upon waking up, there will be a blackout in Itsuki's apartment. The room will be considerably darker in this case and Itsuki won't be able to use his computer to save the game or play ZapNeF. Going back to sleep and waking up again should return the room back to normal.
This event may be a reference to the crick in the neck event in Yume Nikki.
This is one of the few events in the game that's not associated with a feat, and the only event (minus the Endings) to take place in the real world.
Bubbly event
For the associated feats, see: Oxidation and Reduction.
Location: Tubes
Description: After hitting Bubbly in the Tubes, Bubbly will take a darker, scarier appearance. Similarly, the world itself will turn darker and become covered in rust. While it is possible to heal Bubbly and restore the world to it's original state with the Healing Aura effect, to progress in the event it's necessary to keep exploring the world. The routes will be different as multiple paths will be locked but new paths will be open, however it's still a relatively linear path leading into a much more distorted version of the room with the TV effect. Interacting with the TV is a one-way connection into the Hexagon Realm, a small looping world with a shadow Itsuki standing directly north from Itsuki's spawn point and two Hexagons giving Itsuki chase. The event is completed by interacting with the shadow Itsuki while evading the Hexagons, it's however worth noting that seeing this event will enrage Hexagons in other areas of the dream world until Itsuki wakes up.
Hitting Bubbly unlocks the Oxidation feat, while escaping the Hexagons unlocks the Reduction feat, this is the only event associated to two feats instead of one.
Bully Chase
For the associated feat, see: Rise Up.
Location: School
Description: By entering the biggest playground in the School after equipping the Nerd effect, the playground will take a slightly more saturated appearance, the doors returning to the main school area will be locked, the music will be replaced by an omnious droning track and the Monochrome Children will be replaced by stationary Masks. While the menu isn't locked during this event, the Masks don't react to any effect, so the only things Itsuki can do is moving forward through the playground or wake up. If the player chooses to move forward, past a certain post the Masks will become active and start chasing Itsuki. If Itsuki manages to reach the end of the playground without getting caught, he will find a lone stationary mask waiting for him there. Hitting that mask with the Wrench effect will permamently deactivate all masks in the game, with the exception of the Corrupted School ones.
Hitting the lone Mask at the end of the playground unlocks the Rise Up feat.
Canvas Coloring
For the associated feat, see: Canvas.
Location: Art Gallery
Description: There's a door at the north-eastern most part of the Art Gallery which leads to a small room with a medium sized (8x8 tiles) black canvas on the ground and two paintings vaguely representing the Blob and Monochrome effects. Interacting with the tiles in the floor canvas while having one of these effects active will paint the respective tile (of the corresponding color for the Blob effect and white for the Monochrome effect), and interacting with any tile with any other effect active (or without any effect) will turn the tiles black again.
Painting at least one tile with either effect unlocks the Canvas feat.
Cracked Ice
For the associated feat, see: Fallen.
Location: Ice World
Description: There's a X shaped crack on the ground near the entrance from Data World 2. Standing on this crack will make it widen as cracking noises play, until the screen becomes black and the sound of Itsuki falling into water is heard. Itsuki then wakes up in the cabin at the north of the Ice World, implying that the Nice Guy nearby saved him.
Stepping on the crack unlocks the Fallen feat.
Corrupted School
For the associated feat, see: Perspective.
Location: Corrupted School
Description: There's a 1/4 chance, defined upon going to sleep, that one of the long passages in the Lava World will have a stationary Shadow Silhouette standing at the end of it. Interacting with it will take Itsuki on a linear path that ends in a highly saturated and distorted version of the School, starting on an equivalent to the classroom where he can find the Nerd effect on the regular School. Here, he is a younger version of himself and can't open the menu or wake up. Exploring the School reveals that it's infested with stationary Masks that will not trap Itsuki but will laugh at him on interaction, these masks are blocking all exits other than the path to the biggest playground. The playground segment of the event plays similarly to the Bully Chase with the difference that Itsuki is unable to fight back (and the Masks won't trap him anywhere on interaction, instead only limiting his movement by surrounding him). There's a faceless Itsuki looking at the scene from behind a fence. Interacting with him covers the screen with static before briefly returning the school to it's normal look and replacing all Masks with Monochrome Children, after which Itsuki automatically wakes up.
Seeing this event unlocks the Perspective feat.
Empty Gallery
For the associated feat, see: Silent Laughter.
Location: Empty Gallery
Description: After interacting with the fake Fairies outside the Mall until Itsuki can't move, he will be teleported to a darker and monochrome version of the Lone Robot's room in the Art Gallery. Leaving this room will lead Itsuki to the Empty Gallery proper, which is a dark and monochrome version of the standard Art Gallery with no NPCs, paintings or sculptures (trying to interact with the empty frames or the plaques in front of where the sculptures should be will only display a blank text screen as well). Going all the way down into what would have been the exit towards the Doodle World will show an interactable portait depicting Kondo. After seeing this portrait, the Empty Gallery will fill up with transparent and distorted versions of the Monochrome Children who actively look away from Itsuki. At this point the exit towards the Internet will be unlocked, but it will lead to a big empty map with a flashing background of what seems to be a pair of eyes and several ghost Masks that run towards Itsuki but don't do anything on interaction. There's an exit that actually leads to the Internet somewhere in this void, however after spending some few seconds in the Internet, the background will change to that of the Empty Gallery's void for a brief second.
Completing this event unlocks the Silent Laughter feat.
Fake ZApNeF Level
For the associated feat, see: Trapped.
Location: Glitch World
Description: Interacting with the glitched out Zapnef while using the 8-bit effect will take Itsuki (still with the effect on) to a glitched out version of ZApNeF's level 3 with high saturation graphics, stationary enemies and slower music than the actual game. The stage is playable just like in the actual minigame (the exception to this being how even when enemies are interactable, they deal no damage to Itsuki) but after reaching the end of the level, Ball enemies will cover the entire screen except for the tile Itsuki is standing on and the location of both the level goal and the only other visible score up item are actually score down items. After a brief time Itsuki returns to the Computer World and an error pop up shows up.
Seeing this event unlocks the Trapped feat.
Flying Tuna
For the associated feat, see: Colours.
Location: Seabed
Description: There's a small, somewhat hidden, path at the rightmost side of the Seabed which leads to a smaller section of the map, at the end of this map there's a colorful glowing crack in the wall, interacting with it shows a colorful, somewhat abstract, picture of a fish that changes hues constantly as peaceful music plays.
Seeing this rainbow fish unlocks the Colours feat.
Haunted House
For the associated feat, see: Paralyzed.
Location: Dark World
Description: There's a pair of pillars at north-northeast from the Nexus entrance to the Dark World which often has a crate in the opening between them, however, there's a 1/3 (or 1/8 if Lucky Mode has been enabled) chance that the crate won't be there, leaving the opening accessible. Going between the pillars will take Itsuki to a thin path ending in a decrepit house, entering the house reveals it consisting of a single hallway ending in a door. Opening said door shows a darker version of Itsuki's room, with Itsuki lying in his bed. Trying to move Itsuki in this state will make a pair of eyes cover the screen and a static noise play, after which shadow silhouettes will start spawning in the room, doing this too many times will cause a shadow Itsuki to spawn directly over Itsuki's head. After enough time has passed, Itsuki will be forced to wake up.
The chance for this event to be accessible is also 1/3 if entering the Dark World from the Hexagon Realm.
Seeing this event unlocks the Paralyzed feat.
Snowy Day
For the associated feat, see: A Snowy Day.
Location: Subway
Description: If the Ice World was entered from the Shower, then the Ice World's Subway station will have a translucent couple holding a baby, interacting with them will make Itsuki wake up as a much younger version of himself in a crudely drawn cabin in a snowy area where an orchestral arrangement of the game's Save Screen theme plays. Nothing inside the cabin is interactable other than the door leading outside. The outside is a somewhat linear path with some few small detours which eventually leads to a frozen lake with an X shaped crack (similar to the crack that triggers the Cracked ice event), interacting with the lake makes Itsuki jump into it, falling into the water as the ice breaks. In this event it's possible to hear footsteps rushing towards the lake to save Itsuki before he wakes up in his bedroom.
Seeing this event unlocks the A Snowy Day feat.
Spaceship Flight
For the associated feat, see: Careful Cruise.
Location: Moon 2
Description: Interacting with the Flashing Man standing on Moon 2 will make Itsuki begin driving a spaceship in a looping meteor field full of N coins, it is possible to control the spaceship to collect the money. Crashing the spaceship with the meteors or pressing X/esc will drop Itsuki in Edible World near the big chocolate cake.
Seeing this event unlocks the Careful Cruise feat.
Spoiled Mentsuyu
For the associated feat, see: Dizziness.
Location: Edible World
Description: After buying the Spoiled Mentsuyu drink for 45N to the Nice Guy with a drink stand in Edible World, many colorful circles that change sizes and spinning arcs will cover the screen as a sped-up version of the standard music from the Mall plays. As a side note, spoiled Mentsuyu is the only drink in the game that doesn't reference any Yume Nikki fangame and it can only be obtained in the Edible World.
Buying a spoiled Mentsuyu unlocks the Dizziness feat.
Vaporwave Mall
Location: Mall
Description: Every time Itsuki enters the Mall (from any of it's entrances), there's a 70/421 chance that the interior of the Mall will take a saturated pink tint, a slowed down, seemingly vaporwave-inspired, remix of the usual track will play and the floor will reveal a background with neon geometric shapes.
This is one of the few events in the game that's not linked to any feat and due to the chance to obtain it, it can be considered at least partially a joke event.
Wasp Overrun
For the associated feat, see: Wasps.
Location: Forest
Description: There is a lone wasp in one of the broadest areas of the main section of the Forest (the one accesible from the Data World), killing it and then returning to either section of the Forest will tint the map with an intense yellow tone, replace the music but a buzzing noise and have the map be infested by wasps that cannot be killed (but otherwise don't harm Itsuki), Miru will be hiding deeper in his tree, making the Fox effect inaccessible in these conditions. This change reverts after waking up and going back to sleep.
Seeing this version of the Forest unlocks the Wasps feat.
