Grayscale Bookshelves is a world accessible from a dark gray vase of flowers in Heart Maze.

Features

Grayscale Bookshelves is a looping world with dark gray coloring, featuring various bookshelves, couches to sit on and vending machines which dispense pink and orange juice boxes, as well as a block of ice.

Going down from the Heart Maze connection and turning right after hitting a bookshelf will lead to a Phoenician letter bēt (𐤁) which connects to Binding Site.

A gray door in between six bookshelves can be found, leading to the Gray Vintage Library.

A gradient blue door can be found directly north from the bookshelves, which leads to the Photograph Overture.

An isolated section of the map can be reached from a pink Shanpu-san in Wetlands of Tranquility. The section’s shape resembles an eye which is made out of blocks with eyes. In the middle of it is a block with the hiragana わ character, which serves as a teleporter to the Grayscale Mountain Ring.

Photograph Overture

Photograph Overture comes as a stark contrast: a bright and more vibrant cliff pictured in a photo, with a moving blue sky and water at the bottom. You can return to the main area from the gradient door on the right. If you equip the Grave effect, the door will be replaced by a blue teleport rune and a sign next to it will appear, indicating that the connection is under construction.

Gray Vintage Library

Gray Vintage Library is a room consisting of couches, windows, and statues of Nexus teleporters, with the walls featuring words in Japanese. The walls also feature drawings of other NPCs in the game: Jimbo from several of sniperbob’s worlds, Clover from several of Stheven’s worlds, an eyeball monster from Danger Panic Zone and Saikoro-kun from Acerola World. The Clover drawing blushes when Rainbow effect is equipped, while the eyeball monster’s eye bleeds when the Marginal effect is equipped.

A row of 12 thin bookshelves can be found on the upper section of the room. The first bookshelf on the left will be disabled you equip the Grave effect. The lower section has 8 bookshelves, with 4 on each side. When interacted with, the shelves show the books inside them (see Book Gallery). Certain variants books can be read when certain effects are equipped.

A red bookshelf can be spotted next to the Geometry World teleporter statue. It serves as an entrance to "Reading KAZE", which is a large white cube-shaped head. The connection to Broken Faces Area can be unlocked by entering its mouth. If the Chainsaw, Teru Teru Bozu, Marginal and Grave effects are equipped, one of "Reading KAZE"s eyes will start to bleed.
