The door to the room is part of a large mutilated head consistent with many parts of the White Desert that have body parts emerging from the floor. In this room however, the sprite creates a slightly different image that looks as if it may be part of a person that was killed and being eaten by the Thing, but was interrupted when Madotsuki appeared from the remains of the body. The head also resembles that of the Buddha, and is the exit from the room with the [[Yume Nikki:Brain Creature|Brain Creature]].

The Thing with the Quivering Jaw is a decorative character found in the White Desert B.

Overview

The Thing with the Quivering Jaw is a large, monochrome, quadrupedal creature. It has short arms and small feet connected to the lower half of its body. A leg sprouts from its back, resembling a tail, and a veiny arm emerges from the back of its head. It has black eyes and a large jaw that constantly quivers with a rattling sound, hence its name. It also sports black chest hair which also appears to be in its teeth.

It can only be seen by entering a manhole with a red tentacles emerging from it found in the Dense Woods B. Once the manhole is entered, Madotsuki will come across Roary Straw before entering an isolated ring in the White Desert B. Continuing onward will lead to the Brain Creature, and going further will eventually lead to the Thing with the Quivering Jaw. Accompanying the quivering creature is an eye leaking white liquid and a head resembling the Buddha.

This large, white creature appears to be quite threatening, but, like many of the larger, decorative characters in Yume Nikki, it does not interact much or pose any threat to Madotsuki. It can be stabbed with the Knife effect, though it can not be killed. The player can also make its jaw freeze by using the Stoplight effect.

Theories

The Thing with the Quivering Jaw is quite an imposing character that many players find frightening or unappealing. Its deformed body structure with sharp teeth makes for a sudden fright when the player enters the room. Its lack of movement also puts players on edge, as it seems to be about to attack.

The door to the room is part of a large mutilated head consistent with many parts of the White Desert that have body parts emerging from the floor. In this room, however, the sprite creates a slightly different image that looks as if it may be part of a person that was killed and eaten by the Thing, but was interrupted when Madotsuki appeared from the remains of the body. The head also resembles that of the Buddha and is the exit from the room with the Brain Creature.

It may have a connection with Monoko, since they both are in the White Desert and have multiple deformed arms (including the arm in the head, with the noticeable vein).
