The Dark Museum is an area accessible from Geometry World through the door on the last block in a row of blocks.

Annotated map

Features

This area is much like the ordinary Museum with a similar layout. However, it has maroon carpets, almost rustic-looking walls that sometimes have images on them, larger doorways, and chains of purple rope stanchions, like those seen in parts of the Underwater Amusement Park . On display are various upright shrubs in niches in the walls; in front of them are tables and chairs.

The Museum is dark, and though it is possible to navigate without it, the Lantern effect will make it easier to see. Pressing the action key creates a temporary circle of light to grant greater field of vision. Interacting with the switch in the Buddha statue room will also light up the Dark Museum with or without a purplish filter, depending on whether you have the Lantern equipped. Interacting with the switch again will turn the lights back off.

Points of interest include the aforementioned Buddha statue room, just south of which is a room with a yellow ticket booth that will take you to Flying Fish World, and a room with a long, narrow hallway where you can find the Glasses effect. There is also a room with a disturbing bloody face in the wall that constantly pulsates and makes noise.

You can enter this area from Japan Town through the red mailbox. However you will be stuck on an exhibit table with no way out aside from returning back to Japan Town. To unlock use of the green phone to the left, you must first use the Bat effect to mark your place on the table. Then, return to The Nexus and make your way back to the main area. Turning on the lights via the switch in the statue room will activate the phone, which can be returned to by using the Bat effect again. Interacting with the phone at this point will take the player to Urotsuki's Dream Apartments and unlocks the shortcut between the two areas. The lights will be permanently on upon reentering the area after unlocking it for the first time.

Interacting with the switch in the statue room will change one of the plants in a room to the southeast. Using the Glasses effect, you can see and interact with the changed plant, which will teleport you to a sectioned-off room in the Museum. Interacting with the plant again will take you to the main area of the Museum.

Directions

Nexus → Geometry World → Dark Museum

Trivia

  • Although the lights are supposed to stay on after activating them once, sometimes they will not be on. A possible cause of this seems to be entering the Dark Museum from Geometry World and then returning to Geometry World through that entrance. This can be avoided with the Eyeball Bomb effect.
