Square-Square World is an area accessible from Flying Fish World.

Map of Square-Square World

Features

This area operates in a similar way to Flying Fish World and Concrete World, in that it is comprised of elevators which take you to completely different areas on the map, however this world has a different transitional effect when you go through a doorway. It's possible to jump most of the blocks that form this area by using the Spring or Bat effect.

Most of the doorways will lead you to dead ends, but the bottom or side edges of most of the blocks can be interacted with to jump down without effects. The platforms below both doorways labeled "D" can be reached by interacting with the edge to jump down, but they will be dead ends without the Spring or Bat effect. Unlike in Flying Fish World, Urotsuki will not jump if the Plaster Cast effect is equipped.

The player can find an orange, ghost-like creature that will take you to River Road B on top of one of the larger blocks, a white creature with multiple stacked heads that will take the player to Theatre World, a pink-haired Helmet Girl that will take you to the Moonlit Purple Balcony or the Helmet Girl's apartment in Flying Fish World, and floating ghostly Helmet Girls that will teleport you to other parts of the map. It's important to note that the ghostly Helmet Girls move horizontally across the area, so, with enough patience, one can reach the blocks at the top even without the Spring or Bat effect.

From the entrance to Theatre World, you can equip either effect, jump up the first block, and use the doorway labeled "B" to reach Flying Fish World. Without either effect, you can use doorway "A", then "C", then jump down to doorway "B" by interacting with the edge of the platform and continue to Flying Fish World. Also from Theatre World, you can use doorway "A," then equip either effect and jump to the ghostly creature that connects to River Road B.

An NPC leading to Neon City is located in this area on a tall block with another red block at the top. It's possible to reach this red block by using the Spring or Bat effect, or by reaching the doorway labeled "B" and interacting with the ghostly Helmet Girl marked with an "F" in the map near the bottom.

If the player heads straight to the left after going through the doorway next to the Theatre World's entrance, they will transition to a long pathway where the screen will be zoomed out. Continuing to hold left is essential to completing the event, after which the camera will continue to pan left to reveal a gray giant, and Urotsuki will wake up. To access this event, the player has to first complete some requirements:

  • Access either the Cog Maze, the plant room in Flying Fish World, or the Moonlit Purple Balcony accessible by interacting with the Helmet Girl.
  • If the player has only been to the Cog Maze, the event will be random, with the probability decreasing every time you buy a drink until it becomes guaranteed at four drinks.

Trivia

  • Before version 0.113, a flashing creature was found in the same location where the menu theme is now found. This NPC served as a connection with Neon City, and this connection was re-added in version 0.119d patch 1.
  • The Menu Theme #10 previously found in this area used to replace the one in the Planetarium, as an egg.
  • This world was created in 0.097c, but was implemented in 0.099g by Yuki-Hitsuji.
