The Twilight Apartments is an area accessible from the light-purple door in the Nexus.

Features

The Twilight Apartments is a looping multi-floor apartment building with multiple rooms. The building is decorated with palm tree wallpaper, small waterfalls, purple clusters of spikes sticking up from the ground, and various pieces of furniture sporting purple and orange colors.

Upon entering from the Nexus, Irving will start out in an outside area with the apartment building nearby. The outside area is made of several islands within a pink sea, also populated by odd creatures wandering about. Candles, spike clusters, and pillars sporting the apartment's wallpaper texture can be found around the outside area as well. Upon entrance to the world, the Twilight Apartments is in its "Day" state, which can be altered by reaching the balcony on the fourth floor.

Day State

The inside of the apartment starts on the first floor, with a stairway to the other floors directly to the left of the apartment entrance. To the right of the first-floor entrance are three rooms, one of which has a balcony view and two of which are populated by creatures seen wandering outside the apartment building. One room housing two creatures also has a five-digit code on the wall reading "41321".

Going up the stairs leads to the second floor, which is heavily punctured by spikes. The spikes block two of the rooms on this floor, one of which has an odd circular symbol on it, though two other floors can be entered. The top room houses an NPC with brown hair and a yellow coat as well as a bed that Irving can get into. The bottom room contains a ritual circle with a few nearby candles as well as another balcony.

The third floor appears to be flooded, with water all throughout the floor and several waterfalls pouring from the walls. The first room left of the stairs houses a green-haired NPC with a blue shirt and a bed, similar to the other NPC from the second floor. The top room to the left of the green-haired NPC's room also has a bed, though it appears to have someone sleeping in it and is surrounded by spikes. This room also has a stairway leading down into Basement World. The room below this one contains some odd cube items and a third balcony.

The fourth floor contains two rooms as well as more creatures, this time wandering the hall. One of the rooms simply contains a television set while the room near the star-patterned flooring contains a balcony with a frame on it. Interacting with the frame will turn the world into its "Dusk" state, causing the sky outside to become a dark red color and the contents of the apartment to change.

Upon using the stairs, there is a 1/21 chance that Irving will enter an unmarked fifth floor. This floor can appear on either the Day or Dusk forms and it only contains one door. This door leads to the Noise Room which contains puddles of static and a crazed NPC with a blue jacket and pink hair, holding their head and swaying back and forth. A large thought bubble floats above the room, simply displaying black scribbles. Interacting with the NPC will simply make it spew a set of icons. Notably, when struck with the Vampirism effect, the NPC's icons will slightly differ to show two exclamation points, one question mark, and a bloody knife.

Dusk State

While in the Dusk state, the apartment is now darker, sporting a slight red tint throughout the area. Some of the rooms also change their contents, such as the TV room on the fourth floor now displaying an eye on it and the NPCs found on the third and second floors now sleeping in their beds.

On the second floor, in the room with the ritual circle, a floating NPC with a white candle atop its head can be seen at the center of the circle. Upon interacting with them, Irving will be warped to Random Space, a small isolated area with spikes and candles. The candle NPC floats behind Irving, taking them back to Twilight Apartments when interacted with again, though another NPC in the area will teleport Irving to one of seven areas upon being interacted with, each having an equal chance of getting picked: Boiling Water World, Deluge, Emergency Room, Music Symbol World, Mycotoxin Marsh, Stormy Towers, or Sunset Hell.

Upon exiting the building through the entrance door on the first floor, Irving will be taken to another balcony, now with a staircase leading downward. The background now consists of an audio waveform. Going down the stairs leads to a field of purple grass with pink stars floating above, eventually leading to the entrance to Metro Zone.

Directions

Nexus → Twilight Apartments

Trivia

  • If any of the beds are entered while the Scooter effect is equipped, Irving will be unable to leave the bed, causing the game to be softlocked.
  • There is a chance that by interacting with the NPC in the room with the ritual circle, a quiet static sound will play. This will cause Irving's appearance to change and look much like the NPC. He will change clothes and gain paler skin.
