Sandy Cavern is an area accessible from a path through the trees to the northeast of the Magenta Village gate in the Amoeba Woods.

Annotated map of the Sandy Cavern.

Features

Sandy Cavern is a large maze area made out of sandstone walls. A red eye-like mass floats in the distance. Across the maze, there are multiple doorways that teleport Urotsuki to another corresponding doorway, as shown by the letters on the annotated map.

When entered from the Amoeba Woods, Urotsuki is placed on a small patch of grass with trees. Go east to find a similar green area, but with spiral-shaped plants and what seems to be a closed eye on the wall.

To advance, teleport through any of the doorways 20 times (going through the same one 20 times will work). After doing this, a set of noises will play, and a cutscene will show that the eye has opened, revealing itself as completely black with a purple pupil.

Interact with the open eye to experience a vision of a random doorway in the maze, usually having some distinctive thing near it and not being too far from the entrance. This could include a doorway immediately northeast of the entrance, one southeast of a pickaxe leaning against a wall, one with a few X marks around it, or one with a lantern beside it (easily accessible from the doorway labeled "C"). The doorway will be randomized each time the world is entered. Successfully locating and entering it will lead to a darker section and the previously inaccessible exit to Blue Rock Depths. Entering from there will not require solving the puzzle.
