The Wilderness is an area accessible from the Head Wasteland by traveling through the open eyeball UFO, or from the portal in one of the Pyramid Maze's lower rooms.

Annotated map of the Wilderness.

Features

The Wilderness is large open area with brick-red colored soil, scattered with strange, large tentacle-like organisms, whose appearance is determined by the initial area by which you've entered from.

If you entered from Head Wasteland, the tentacles will be red with greenish spots, shriveled up as if they are in fear. If you entered the area from the Hourglass Desert's Pyramid Maze, the tentacles will have a vibrant yellow-green color, and stand tall and proud, with odd sponge-like organs protruding from their ends.

By heading northwest from either entrance, one can find one of the yellow-green sponge-like organs on the ground without a stalk. Interacting with it will switch between the two states.

In the red tentacles state, traveling south from the Head Wasteland entrance, or east and slight north from the state-switching sponge, there is a red, λ-shaped alien that takes Urotsuki to the Alien Wasteland.

Directions

If the connection between the Dark Room and the Hourglass Desert has been unlocked:

Trivia

  • When shriveled up, the tentacles are identical to those on the Ocean Floor.
  • This area is named after the Wilderness area in Yume Nikki due to the similarities in the shape of the growths that dot the area and the atmosphere of emptiness that both environments share.
  • There has been speculation that this area is another planet, considering that you have to enter the eyeball UFO to get there. There is also speculation that the connections between this world is a reference to the movie Stargate, as the route you take from the UFO leads you to the Pyramid Maze.
  • Before version 0.112i, the yellow plant version of this world had a neon ladder that connected to the Crystal Caves.
