The Nopperabou Ghost is an effect NPC found within the Sewers. It gives Madotsuki the Nopperabou effect.
Overview
The Nopperabou Ghost resembles a small, pale-green, teardrop-shaped ghost, bearing similarities to Fleebie and Follony. Unlike the other two ghosts they resemble, they lack any facial features, simply having a blank face.
The Nopperabou Ghost can be found at the very west side of the Sewers, floating around the northern wall of a room with a large pool of sewage water. When interacted with for the first time, it will give Madotsuki the Nopperabou effect.
The effect the Nopperabou Ghost grants is based on the Noppera-bō Japanese yokai, a ghost that appears as a human without a face. The effect being granted by a literal "faceless ghost" is likely a play on words. The character name reflects this, translating to the "faceless ghost ghost".
Trivia
- In YUMENIKKI –DREAM DIARY–, an entire swarm of what appears to be Nopperabou Ghosts can be seen floating by the lighthouse in the Pier World and circling above Poniko's House. The later added Sewer also features a stationary one.
- The Faceless Ghost was originally more lightly shaded prior to version 0.10.
