The Gutter is an area accessible from the Smiley Signs World or the Bright Forest.

Map of The Gutter.

Features

The Gutter is a very dark, branching area, where the different sections of it are separated in rooms through the area. Using the Lantern will very slightly increase the visibility and exposure of the map.

Entering from the Bright Forest will have you inside an isolated point of the map, where you can access the rest of the world if you aren't using the Bike towards the upper walls of it.

If you enter from the scarlet section of the Scarlet and Monochrome Halls instead, there will be NPCs resembling the ones from that world in the start. If you make your way deeper instead, you will find some NPCs resembling sharp floating stones, which become more colorful with the Rainbow effect, but stop moving and become darker with the Glasses and Stretch effects. Interestingly, using the Child effect will cause the NPCs to disappear.

In a hidden passage in the area, there will be a certain room completely filled with NPCs. If you open your way through them, you will find yourself in a extremely dark and small room with blood splattered in it, with an ominous buzz playing in the background. Using the Glasses effect will reveal that there is a red version of The Liar from Lovesick World behind the blood puddle, and using the Grave effect instead will show ???-tsuki sitting in front of him. Entering the door at the lower left will bring you back to the main area.

Numerous entrances are either unreachable or blocked traffic cones. As you explore the area, you will eventually find a door that leads to a much less dark room. This room has colorful versions of the stone NPCs, with lots of graffiti on the walls, and red eyes that follow Urotsuki. From here, you can find a barricaded path with construction signs and another door at the end of this room, which leads to a set of steel ladders, guiding you to the Lavender Park.

Scarlet and Monochrome Halls

This area is a set of separate small rooms that are connected by a series of doors, where the colors of the rooms are either bright red or monochromatic. Much like The Gutter, there are only a small set of doors in each room. Unlike the Gutter, These colors are referring to the color palettes of Shallows of Deceit and of Smiley Signs World.

In some of the rooms of this world, you will find multiple Depressed Folk, who have their backs arched and their arms slouched in front of their torso. They are not dissimilar to the green person found in Broken Faces Area and are identical to the inhabitants of The Gutter.

Upon entering a room that has two up arrows next to a door, resembling a smiley face, the screen will turn bright red and bring you Shallows of Deceit; a point of no return.
