Chocolate World is an area accessible by interacting with the white (or sometimes mixed or dark) chocolate bar found in Forest World or in the back room of the Theatre in the Dark Room.

Annotated map of Chocolate World.

Features

Chocolate World is a relatively small and looping area with a floor consisting of squares of milk and white chocolate. Large bars of both types of chocolate can be seen floating in the background and foreground. If you have previously acquired the Cake effect, a chocolate fountain will be present in the center of the world, where both the milk and white chocolate squares mesh together. Interacting with it will make the screen flood with liquid chocolate, and doing so for the first time grants you Menu Theme #19. If you have also visited Dream Park's central section, a Puni will be present just northwest of center area and will take Urotsuki to Butter Rain World when interacted with.

There are many other connections to be found in this world. Interacting with the white chocolate bar located east of the center area will transport you to Forest World, and south from here is a white ladder which will lead to Powdered Sugar Wasteland. A yellow orb wrapped in purple tendrils (identical to the one found in The Invisible Maze) located just southwest of the center area will warp you to the Stone Maze. The round-headed blue humanoid located west of the center area provides a one-way trip to Violet Galaxy, and the pink trident just north from them serves as a connection to Sweet Pink Docks. There is also a bowl of green tea located just northeast of the center area which will transport Urotsuki to Green Tea Graveyard. A red ladder can be spotted slightly west from the bowl, and interacting with it with the Grave or Marginal effects will teleport the player to Tarnished Chocolate World.

The connection to Dark Room manifests as a different kind of chocolate bar that can appear in one of three areas on the map, which depends on the current value of Variable #44. If it is 99 or lower, it will be a milk chocolate bar and located in the northwestern region of the world. If it is between 100 and 199, it will be a white chocolate bar and located in the northeastern region instead. If it is 200 or higher, it will be a mixed chocolate bar and located in the center area, slightly northwest from the chocolate fountain. There is also a small pink rabbit NPC hopping around the world that serves as a one-way connection to one of four worlds as determined by your current position on the map. Equipping the Bunny Ears effect will attract it to you, making it easier to determine which world you will travel to.

These potential areas are the western entrance of Highway's tunnel, the Purple Moonlit Balcony in Flying Fish World, the apex of the western tower in the Day and Night Towers, and Mermaid Moon Lake in Jigsaw Puzzle World. The determining position is directly influenced by Urotsuki's exact X/Y coordinates, with single tile differences changing the destination. Each determining position is aligned in a diagonal pattern (a reference map can be found in the gallery), which means that identifying where at least one tile takes you can help you figure out the rest. Interestingly, after each teleport, Urotsuki will face upwards towards the moon, and in Highway the camera will start panned upwards to fit the moon in frame. However, Day and Night Towers might have the sun above the tower instead of the moon due to its gimmick.

A few red hour glass NPCs can be found moving around, as well as a pink cone-headed creature.

Trap Event

Urinating on the wall with the Boy effect in Japan Town triggers an event here where the all the doors will disappear and the world will become filled with flat, purple shadow ladies, which will chase you until they catch you or you wake up.

If they catch you, you will be sent to a sectioned off staircase in the Sewers, with very dark, foreboding music.

Directions

Trivia

  • The pink cone-headed creature in this area used to be the portal to the Stone Maze here, but was replaced by the more relevant tree object.
  • Next to the dark sectioned-off staircase that the flat shadow ladies send you to, "see you" is written into the wall tiles, but is only viewable in RPG Maker.
  • Prior to version 0.121a, part of the requirement for accessing Butter Rain World was obtaining Menu Theme #19. This was replaced with needing the Cake effect.
