Buyo Buyo (ブヨブヨ, named after the Japanese onomatopoeia of a squishing noise, which can also mean flabby) is an effect NPC that can be found in FC World B. It grants Madotsuki the Buyo Buyo effect.
Overview
Buyo Buyo is a small, blue, round creature with three small bumps on its right side. It has one large eye with a light blue sclera making up most of its body. In earlier versions of the game, it appeared in the Barracks Settlement and had a dark purple pupil.
Buyo Buyo can be found in FC World B, located in the lower portion of a set of ruins accessible from the FC overworld. Once inside the lower portion, Buyo Buyo can be found in the lower-right corner, surrounded by four totems. Interacting with it will give Madotsuki the Buyo Buyo effect. Buyo Buyo also reacts normally to the Knife and Cat effects. When the Stoplight effect is used, it will freeze as their pupil disappears, appearing as if it has died.
When interacting with Madotsuki, Buyo Buyo makes a sound that sounds similar to a smooch. The same sound plays when interacting with the FC Demon and the lips in Eyeball World.
Trivia
- In the game's files, there is an unused Buyo Buyo in the game's regular art style. It was used in versions 0.06 and 0.07, where Buyo Buyo appeared in one of the houses at the Barracks Settlement instead.[1]
- Also unused are some flabby-looking sprites of Buyo Buyo. These were used in versions 0.08 and 0.09, where the Seahorse is sucking Buyo Buyo dry. The Buyo Buyo still appeared in FC World B in these versions, granting its effect as normal.[2]
- It is the only character other than Madotsuki and the Pirori who has an appearance in both art styles.
