===Yume Nikki Steam Version Stupidness===
This is a list of various errors, oversights, or utterly confusing stuff that is present in the English Steam release of ''Yume Nikki'', of which was not present in the original Japanese release or fan-translation.
*In any of the FC Worlds (FC House, FC Worlds A and B, and FC Dungeon), the Umbrella effect does not make any effect action noise if Madotsuki is facing left. This is due to the sound erroneously not being set to play while facing this direction.
*The heartbeat sound that typically plays when Tokuto-kun is tipped over does not play. This is due to the sound file having a different name than what is called for.
*There are two specific candles in Candle World that, when stabbed with the Knife effect, transform into an unused light graphic instead of the intended unlit candle graphic.
*Both the FC Pirori and FC menu cursor, which share the same sounds, are completely silent. This is due to the sound file having a different name than what is called for. Interestingly, the Lizardmen use the same noise but do not have this error.
*Normally, a fade to black occurs when getting into the Spaceship bed. This is absent in the English Steam version.
**There are also fade-in and fade-out transitions for the Spaceship crash cutscene, although these are also absent.
*Move Routes with sounds tend to play sounds with incorrect speed or volume. This is most noticeable when using the Cat or Medamaude effects, with both being louder (Cat effect is at 20 volume and Medamaude is at 60, both are set to 100 in the English Steam version) and the Medamaude effect's sound effect being sped up to normal speed (70% speed in the original, 100% speed in the English Steam version).
*If the player equips the Stoplight effect, switches it to red, and interacts with the Mall Toriningen to make their menu theme colored red, the popup text for changing the menu theme will display as garbled text.
*The initial English Steam release had some of the effects named differently in the effect menu. This was fixed in a patch, but the different names still remained in the FC menu and when picking up the effects. They were named the following:
**Get Fat (Fat effect)
**Whistle (Flute effect)
**Talking Head (Severed Head effect)
**Devil (Demon effect)
**Game Info (Instructions)
***In the FC menu, the Instructions are also named "Game Explanation" instead.
*The Midget effect is misspelled "Miget" in the FC menu if all of the effects have been obtained.

Welcome to my sandbox. This is where I'll put stuff when I'm experimenting with wiki assets, constructing new pages, or just doing trivial analytical things for fun.

Name Articles

The "Name" articles are a series of articles originally created by Mt.kiki on the old Yume Nikki Wiki. These pages list various theories relating to Yume Nikki and possible design inspirations for various aspects of the game. As the articles (likely) provide a Japanese point-of-view on the game's visuals and themes, they are likely to give better insight into possible design processes while creating Yume Nikki.

As the articles are either largely written in Japanese, have broken Google-Translated English, or are copy-pasted from other websites, I'd like to try and see if I could decode what each of the article's sections intends to communicate. This is also done to squeeze the contents of the articles into a smaller, usually multi-paragraph, state so that it can be read from a single section rather than an entire article.

Not all of the articles have currently been analyzed or translated, so this is still a work-in-progress section. Once one has been completed, an image will accompany the section.
