Assuming Madotsuki is supposed to be Japanese like her creator [[KIKIYAMA]], the world is probably a representation of Madotsuki's memory of one of Japan's bustling neon-lit streets, such as those the Shinjuku area of Tokyo is famous for. This also may be related to the colorful Andean textiles present in Peruvian culture, as [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paracas_culture Paracas] Iconography is present within the dream worlds. If true, this further gives credence to the [[Mesoamerican Imagery|theory]] of Madotsuki potentially being a [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_Peruvians Peruvian Nikkei] or related to this culture.

Neon World is one of the twelve original locations accessible directly from the Nexus.

Map of Neon World

Features

It is a large, labyrinthine world that is composed of a series of small, brightly-colored rooms and wide-open plazas. It is easy to get lost in the looping map where you can lose your sense of position. Unlike other worlds that are sparsely populated, creatures of various colors are abundant here, a far cry from the lonely atmosphere created by other locations. The soundtrack has a faster tempo than other worlds, and the flashing floor tiles make sounds when walked over.

In some of the rooms, sculptures can be found that resemble Mesoamerican textile animals. In one of the rooms is a doorway that will take Madotsuki to the Neon Tile Path. There is also one unique NPC found in the world known as the Neon Parrot who will give the Neon effect upon first interaction. They can be found by going one room west and two rooms north of the entrance plaza.

Directions

Nexus → Neon World
