Features

Underground Maze

After descending the stairs past the Overgrown City's aquarium, Urotsuki will arrive at collection of stone pathways suspended above black waters. The first portion of the Underground Maze is full of plant life and greenery peeking above the water's surface. In the southwestern portion of maze, not far from the entrance, the player will encounter a sitting fisherman similar to the one visible in the Deserted Pier. The fisherman does not react to effects, and trembles when interacted with. Despite the area's maze-like nature, it is difficult to get lost in the Underground Maze: it is intended as a segue to the further areas of the Victorian Drains. The second part of the Underground Maze is a dark and barren collection of stone platforms. As Urotsuki progresses, a whirring sound in the background becomes louder and louder before revealing the Carnival Town.

Carnival Town

Contrasting the Underground Maze, the Carnival Town is a bright, psychedelic area, lit by lanterns and bioluminescent mushrooms. A cheery jingle plays in the background. The town is inhabited by intangible, pulsating orbs of light. Vibrant and nonsensical graffiti dapples the upper walls, among strange, colorful eyes. This area comes to an abrupt end when the player reaches the easternmost point: a silent, bright red room containing monochrome depictions of caricatured creatures and eyes. This linear tunnel leads into the final area of Victorian Drains: the Abandoned Park.

Abandoned Park

The last part of this location resembles a derelict park. It features a horse on a spring, a working vending machine, a creepy-looking tunnel, the skeleton of a long-dead creature, and a rideable swan-boat at its northernmost end. After interacting with the horse on a spring, Urotsuki will sit on it and rock back and forth in in accordance with the left and right arrow keys. The upper portion of the abandoned park contains a grayish wooden gate, among a small pond in which there is a swam Urotsuki can ride. When Urotsuki reaches the pond, the screen will pan upwards, revealing a shimmering city beneath a golden arch. In the pond is a soot-stained yellow archway with two vibrant hands that will transport the player to the Bioluminescent Cavern.
