Chocolate World is an area that can be accessed by interacting with the white (or sometimes mixed or dark) chocolate bar found in the Forest World or in the back room of the Theatre in the Dark Room.

Annotated map of Chocolate World.

Features

As its name suggests, Chocolate World's floor consists of squares of dark or white chocolate. It is a relatively small, looping area with transparent blocks of chocolate floating in the background and foreground.

If you have previously acquired the Cake effect, a chocolate fountain will be present in the center of an area with both dark and white chocolate squares. Interacting with it will make the screen flood with liquid chocolate. Doing so for the first time grants you Menu Theme #19.

There are many connections to be found in this world. Interacting with the white chocolate bar will transport you to Forest World, the purple and yellow tree (identical to the one found in the The Invisible Maze) will warp you to the Stone Maze, the round-headed blue humanoid is a one-way teleport to Violet Galaxy, the pink trident serves as a connection to Sweet Pink Docks, and the bowl of green tea will transport you to Green Tea Graveyard.

A red ladder can be spotted next to the Green Tea Graveyard bowl, interacting with it with the Grave or Marginal effects will teleport the player to a tarnished version of the world. A white ladder can also be found, which will lead to Powdered Sugar Wasteland.

If you have visited the Dream Park's central section and obtained the Cake effect, a Puni will be present in the northern part of the dark chocolate area that takes Urotsuki to Butter Rain World when interacted with.

The chocolate bar leading to the Dark Room can appear in one of three areas on the map, depending on the current value of Variable #44. If it is 99 or lower, the bar will be dark and located on the northwestern dark circle. If it is between 100 and 199, it will be white and located on the northeastern white circle, north of the Forest World entrance. If it is 200 or higher, it will be mixed and located in the center, near the chocolate fountain.

There are also a number of moving red hour glasses, a pink cone-headed creature, and a small pink rabbit NPC who hops around. Equipping the Bunny Ears effect will attract it to you, and interacting with it will teleport you to one of four areas determined by your current position on the map. These potential areas are the western entrance of the Highway tunnel, the moonlit balcony in Flying Fish World, the apex of the western tower in the Day and Night Towers, and the mermaid lake in Jigsaw Puzzle World. As an allusion to the location where the effect is obtained, all four of these areas feature moons.

The position determination isn't split into corners or large shapes, it's determined based on X and Y coordinates, with single tile differences changing the destination. Standing on the middle row of the # shape left of Stone Maze's entrance, the left bar leads to Jigsaw Puzzle World, the left middle square leads to Day and Night Towers, the right middle square to Flying Fish World, and the right bar to Highway. Interestingly, after each teleport, Urotsuki will face upwards towards the moon, and in Highway the camera will start panned upwards to fit the moon in frame. However, Day and Night Towers might have the sun above the tower instead of the moon due to its gimmick.

Trap Event

You're looking a little too thin today.
Around and around we go...

Urinating on the wall with the Boy effect in Japan Town triggers an event here where the all the doors will disappear and the world will become filled with flat, purple shadow ladies, which will chase you until they catch you or you wake up.

If they catch you, you will be sent to a sectioned off staircase in the Sewers, with very dark, foreboding music.

Directions

Trivia

  • The pink cone-headed creature in this area used to be the portal to the Stone Maze here, but was replaced by the more relevant tree object.
  • Next to the dark sectioned-off staircase that the flat shadow ladies send you to, "see you" is written into the wall tiles, but is only viewable in RPG Maker.
  • Prior to version 0.121a, part of the requirement for accessing Butter Rain World was obtaining Menu Theme #19. This was replaced with needing the Cake effect.
