Sorrow and Comfort Monuments is an area accessible from a telephone booth in Usugurai Residence.

Features

This monochrome area is set within two large 哀 (Sorrow) and 楽 (Comfort) shaped platforms, decorated with palm trees on a dark distorted background. Equipping the Glasses, Rainbow or Tissue effects will give the area a more colorful look, with the background changing to a blue sky and the palm trees to a blue color.

Starting from the Usugurai Residence entrance, Urotsuki starts on the bottom left corner of the 哀 character. On the character's center is a door with a 哀 character that only appears if text events are enabled. Entering this door will take Urotsuki to the Character Plains. On the center-right part of the character is another telephone booth, this one leads to Grayscale Bookshelves when entering it from the side.

On the bottom right corner of the 哀 character's platform is a glowing tile that will teleport Urotsuki to the 楽 character's platform. On this platform, the center contains another door with a 楽 character on it that takes Urotsuki to the Character Plains. Two telephone booths can be found on the bottom corners of this structure, both blocked by red barricades. The bottom center contains another glowing tile which will take Urotsuki to the platform's central part. In here, the tile on the right leads to a book with wings that serves as a connection to the Hiragana Board. The tile on the left leads to a blue sink that warps Urotsuki to the Sink Catalog.

The upper part of the 哀 character's platform can be accessed from Rendered Dreamscape, which is isolated and contains two telephone booths blocked by barricades, indicating possible future connections.
