Chimiko are a type of NPC that appear in many areas of the Spirit World. They are also the Answered Prayers equivalent of the Toriningen from Yume Nikki.
Appearance
Chimiko are tall feminine characters with long black hair, rosy cheeks, and a traditional Miko outfit. They have a neutral expression not unlike Fluorette's appearance.
An enraged Chimiko will have a blood-covered face and stomach, most likely from the hit of the Shovel Prayer.
Overview
Chimiko will typically wander around the Spirit World in a passive state. They will not react to any prayers but the Shovel, in which they will scream in pain before transforming into their enraged state, pursuing Fluorette and trapping her in an enclosed area once they have caught up to her. These enclosed spaces can only be escaped by waking up or using the Phantom Prayer.
Some Chimiko appear in helpful positions, such as the shop owner Chimiko in Spirit Town or the guide Chimiko in the Elevator Room.
Locations
- Snowy Streets (Sub Area) - Will trap you in Black Caves when provoked. This Chimiko is also notably incredibly fast.
- Miko Shrine - Will trap Fluorette in Spirit Town, Green World, or the Playground if any of them are provoked, depending on which captures her.
- Green World - Will trap Fluorette in the Playground when provoked.
- Symbols Maze - Two already enraged Chimiko can be found here. They trap Fluorette in the Complex.
- Spirit Town - This Chimiko has her own shop. In early versions, she fixes the Broken Sandals item to make the Tall Geta prayer for 400 Nat. Now, she simply answers Fluorette in a series of dots if interacted with. The Shovel prayer cannot be used on her. She differs from the others by wearing glasses on her head.
- There is another Chimiko in an alleyway that is easily overlooked. She faces and walks toward the wall at the end of the way. When enraged, she will trap Fluorette in the Snowy Streets.
- Elevator - A friendly Chimiko. Sighs when she has to make the elevator work for Fluorette. The Shovel effect can not be used on her, so she can not be enraged.
Trivia
- While "chi" (ち) is commonly used for multiple words in Japanese, the name "Chimiko" may be a combination of "chi" (血, blood) and "miko" (巫女, Shinto shrine maiden), with the former alluding to their heavily-bloodied appearance when enraged.
