Board Game Islands is an area accessible from the green magic door in Garden World or the yellow magic door in Bishop Cathedral.
Features
Board Game Islands is an archipelago made up of floating game boards containing fake green fields and forests. True to name, they also feature typical board game elements, such as colorful paths, colored pawns, dice, question cards, and more. Surrounding the area at all times is a curved black border with tinted corners, giving it the slight appearance of being displayed on a CRT monitor. Equipping the Child effect in this world will cause the world's colors to become saturated, while equipping the Stretch effect will cause the world to become grayscale.

Going west of the first bench, through several trees, and following the path up brings you to a set of yellow tiles at the end of a board. While standing still on these tiles for awhile, there's a chance a red door leading to an isolated section of Domino Maze will eventually appear on the island across from them. When it appears, the door will open and Angry Dice will step out too. Using the Dice effect doubles the chances of the door appearing. Once it appears, the red door stays open for several seconds before closing again. To access it, you need to go to where the door will appear beforehand, mark a return point with the Bat effect, and fly back over when the door appears.

Using the Dice effect at any point while in the area will cause canned applause to play. If the dice's red eye is revealed (random chance upon rolling), the colorful atmosphere of the islands will turn into a chaotic mess. The colors will become inverted and warped, red eyes will appear everywhere, and loud laughter will play indefinitely. In this distorted version, you will be teleported randomly to some points on the map, including places that are normally inaccessible. If the Dice effect is rerolled or unequipped, the world will return to its normal state and you will be placed back where you originally rolled the red eye. There is a chance whenever you are randomly teleported that you will end up on an island where King Fuun is.

On one of the board islands, there is a blub Kanashimi that blocks a path in the middle of several flowers, making it only accessible by the Dice's Eye event. Once in the plane of chaos, you must follow the path to enter a house that will take you to islands with other houses where only one of each island is the right one, while the others take you to other houses on the map, forcing you to return to the first home again. The correct sequences of the houses are displayed on the map above with colored dots.

Near the bottom of the screen, Child Urotsuki cowers in fear of the face and will flash red and play a noise if the player attempts to make her move. Only after some time can the confirm key (Z) be pressed to make Urotsuki automatically wake up from the nightmare.

Board Game Islands is an area accessible from the green magic door in Garden World or the yellow magic door in Bishop Cathedral if the player holds the Child effect.

Annotated map of Board Game Islands.

Attached to several of the boards is a long path made up of jigsaw puzzle pieces. Here, Poing Poing, a cat with a springy tail, can be found jumping along. If the Chainsaw effect is equipped, Poing Poing will become worried and flee from you. After following the path for a bit, eventually a bench can be found in the northeast part of it. If Variable #44 is less than 50, Fru Fru Bear will appear sitting here. To the right of the bench is a picnic basket, which Fru Fru Bear will prevent you from touching. If the Chainsaw effect is equipped, Fru Fru Bear will panic and run away, allowing a banana to be taken from the basket.

North from the question mark cards is a bench, where a book can be found lying on it if this world has been accessed via the green magic door in Garden World. Interacting with the book will unlock the coloring book in Library. To the east of these cards is an accessible house, leading to Vibrant Funhouse requiring the Fairy or Child effects to access.

Dice's Eye Event

Wardrobe Face Event

Spoilers:

[Show/Hide]

On one of the board islands, there is a Kanashimi that blocks a path in the middle of several flowers, making it only accessible during the Dice's Eye event. Once said event is activated, you must follow the now unblocked path and enter a house at the end. This will take you to a short teleporter maze made up of islands with other houses. At this point, the Dice's Eye teleports decrease in frequency. The correct sequences of the houses are displayed on the map above with colored dots.

 • Island 1 - Lower right house;
 • Island 2 - Lower left house;
 • Island 3 - second house (left to right).

After going through this house, you'll come to a long island where you'll have to run to find the wardrobe before you're teleported once more. Interacting with the wardrobe will cause a spotlight to shine on it as the islands revert to their normal state. This is followed by Urotsuki automatically equipping the Child effect and walking into the open wardrobe.

Inside of the wardrobe is a simple black void with drawings of stars and flowers. At the end of the void's path is Kako's Mask, who, when interacted with, will cause a message to appear with the symbols of a moon, sun, and a star in random order before opening up like a door. Urotsuki will automatically enter the mask, and, after a few seconds, an image of a face flashing through various states will appear as ominous droning plays. During this event Urotsuki will cower in fear near the bottom of the screen. Attempting to make her move will cause her to flash red and make a noise. After some time, the confirm key (Z) can be pressed to automatically wake up from the nightmare.

Spoilers end here.

Trivia

The binary event as it appears in the Board Game Islands.
 • The Angry Dice was inspired by the Loaded Dice enemy from the game Earthbound.
 • The Wardrobe Face event is a direct reference to the original FACE event from Yume Nikki. In addition, the face-like door which triggers the event seems to take inspiration from the scrapped FACEtile door found in the files of older versions.
 • If the map is accessed without the Child effect (only possible through Debug Mode), the screen will go dark after a few seconds, and then the map will become glitched and tinted red. The player is unable to move in this state. Pressing the confirm key will cause an error message written in binary to appear, which translates to "kid not found" when decoded. After this, pressing any key will take you directly to the title screen.
