Somber Establishment is an area accessible from Planter Passage.

Features

This mysterious, rainy seaside area is comprised of teal buildings with empty windows and gray doors, stone roads and walls, white streetlamps, scattered boxes, various pots and plants, small tables with blue or red striped umbrellas, and other decorative elements.

Entering from Planter Passage will place Urotsuki in a section surrounded by white pots and wooden boxes with a familiar shoreline to the south. Heading north, the street is interrupted by a wooden sign pointing out a hidden path behind a building. Equipping the Glasses effect will reveal an apparition of a spinning snowman on a balcony near here. Further along the hidden path, there is a motionless fish person facing a wall and a cone blocking a walled courtyard containing a red octopus, a bicycle, a large planter, and other objects. At the end of the walkway, there is a door with a streak of blood above it. Using the door will place Urotsuki in a dark void with a large yellow polygon above her. She will refuse to go any further, and turning forward will play a static noise before returning her to the main area.

Back at the sign, heading north will lead past a group of cones blocking a figure resembling the snowman lying face down on the ground. Near here, the wall has a few purple tiles on it, and the path above it is blocked by circular "x" signs. Carrying on, the street will eventually fork. West of here is a blue vending machine and a door leading to an interior section formed of teal cubes with narrow paths to other doors. In this section, the music will change, and the background will become dark and grainy. East of the forked street, the area opens up to many branching paths with doors leading through different interior sections.

A possible path to reach the Convenience Store involves using the door northeast of the forked street, then going behind the pillar and using the door to the left to arrive at an outdoor section with two accessible doors. Using the door encircled by the street and then the door to the right will place Urotsuki near a purple creature with a closed eye that will make a sound upon interaction. Following the street to the east, then taking the first southern path will lead to the shoreline. West of here is a limited view of the entrance from Planter Passage, just past the final door, which will lead to an interior section filled with cubes. At the end is a cone and a door to the Blue Path, a transitional walkway resembling the Blue Sanctuary. Surrounding the grassy path is water dotted with small islands featuring flowers, blue trees, and a purple tile in one corner. On the other side is an exterior section containing a cat-like monitor, also seen in Expanded Corridors. North of here is a door that can be unlocked by visiting the exterior of the store, and it will lead back to the Planter Passage connection. Walking up the street will lead to the Convenience Store.

Following the path described above, but instead using the leftmost door of the interior section before the purple creature, and then the door directly to the right, will lead to an interior section with five doors at the top of the path and the door to the Stone Hand Flatland connection at the bottom. Next to this is another sign with an arrow pointing to a building blocked by a red Construction Sign, indicating an available connection.

Convenience Store

After climbing through the fence, Urotsuki will encounter a view of the cloudy, moonlit sky, with the previous area and a towering blue cone seen in the distance. In front of the sepia-toned building is a parking zone, with cones blocking off the doors. If Sepia Clouds World has been visited at least once, the cones will disappear, granting access to the store.

Stepping through the sliding glass doors will reveal a modest interior with a sane Shadow Lady standing behind the counter. The doors on the other side will lead to Sepia Clouds World, unlocking the connection from there. The door at the back of the store will go to a small hallway containing a doorway to Submerged Signs World and an initially locked door. After visiting the store at least once, this door can be unlocked by entering from Teru Teru Bozu Pond.
