Like Yume Nikki and many of its fangames, there are a variety of events within Braingirl that Mikan may encounter while exploring the dream world. This article is a list of many of the events within the game, as well as their individual locations, their requirements to activate, and what may be unlocked by activating them.
Ambush
Location: Hamlet
Prompt: Collect the CDs within the dark house.
Description: North of the pit is a dark house, where 3 CDs can be found. Shortly after obtaining the CDs, pink-eyed humanoid shadows will appear, ready to accost Mikan, sending her to the Cellar.
Eye Tile Escape
Location: Catacombs
Prompt: Step on the tile with the eye symbol on it.
Description: Going south of the Catacombs entrance, then going east, and then taking the northern corridor, a tile with an eye can be found. When stepped on, this tile unlocks several exits and sends some Spider Fishes jumping out of the watery pits.
Horse Race
Location: Red Barn
Prompt: Interact with the NPC with the red head.
Description: An NPC will allow Mikan to bet 2 CDs in a horse race. If you agree to bet, the NPC will let you pass into the doorway behind them. There, Mikan can select the horse to bet on (she can change her mind before exiting, but can only bet on one horse at time). The winning horse is random each time, and winning grants 5 CDs. However, if Mikan loses three times (per savefile), the screen will dim and a chaser will enter, teleporting Mikan to an isolated section of the cornfield. The chaser will stay inside the barn after this, rendering the horse race permanently inaccessible.
Labyrinth Tunes
Location: Grasslands Labyrinth
Prompt: Interact with the speakers.
Description: Initially, the Grasslands Labyrinth is silent, but if a speaker next to a white dog is found and powered on by interacting with it, the music that plays from it will be heard all throughout the labyrinth. The music will continue to play even if Mikan wakes up and return to the labyrinth later, unless the speaker is turned back off.
Now You See Me
Location: Bedroom
Prompt: Wake up in Mikan's bedroom at night.
Description: A yellow NPC in a green suit (the same as the one seen in the Vanishing Act event) can be seen in the centre of the room for a split second, with its eyes completely white, before suddenly disappearing with no explanations given.

Location: Industrial Tunnels
Prompt: Interact with the various pages either posted on the lockers or sitting on a desk.
Description: Many pages can be found scattered across the Industrial Tunnels, taped to various lockers. One of them will show a crude drawing of what looks like a cloaked figure with a hat, a starry landscape, and a bomb; another one will show an enlarged monochrome picture too blurry to decipher, possibly a view of a city from above; another one will show a crude drawing of a pink man in a hat; and lastly, one will show a messy drawing of a star, or possibly a star-shaped cell tower.
Smiler Scare
Location: Industrial Tunnels
Prompt: Move for long enough in front of the sinister face.
Description: Upon entering, there is a screen on the wall displaying a sinister face. Occasionally, there will be a sudden noise and Mikan will jump as if startled. If she is near the beginning of the area, this will cause her to run out to exit back to the Shine Garden. Upon returning, the face on the screen will be gone.
Spirit Shrine
Location: Shrine Garden
Prompt: Interact with the orb within one of the shrines.
Description: Interacting with the orb will shatter it to pieces. Upon exiting the shrine after breaking the orb, the Shrine Garden will now have a more ominous appearance. The atmosphere is more gloomy with some significant changes, such as pink blood splattered across some of the shrines, blocked access to the Streets Hub, streetlights switched off, and the flowers turning pink.
