The Owl Swamp is an area accessible from the Retro Dungeon.

Features

Owl Swamp is wetland area that consists of a number of grassy islands and purple leafless trees. A few lamps are scattered around the islands along with tiki towers lining the bridges. Most notably, the bottom components of these towers are shaped like owls. Lily pads connect the islands together as well, and serve the same purpose as bridges.

Five brown owls also inhabit the area, which will make noise when interacted with until they are interacted with again. Three of them produce a part of a tune that synchronizes to those of the other owls in the area, which when all activated cause the Flute memory to appear on top of a nest. Relative to the tree that takes Muma back to Retro Dungeon, the first owl can be found by going down the south bridge, the second going down the south bridge and then the west bridge, and the third going down the south bridge, east bridge and then north up the lily pad path. To then get to the nest from here, go to the eastern bridge and the flute will be in the nest. Activating any other owls than these three prevents the Flute memory from appearing. If the R-Maze connection in this area is active, it will be found on the island with the third musical owl.

The other two owls left will make a strange squawking sound instead when interacted with. From the entrance to the Retro Dungeon, the first one can be reached by using the southern, then eastern bridge. At the bottom of this owl's island there is also a ladder down to Tree Trunk Complex. The second one is found by crossing the southern, then western bridge, using the lily pads to the south, and finally crossing the bridge to the west. Crossing the lily pads west of this owl's island will bring Muma to a tree with an opening that goes to Puzzle Chamber. Once both of these owls have been activated, the glass in the lamps will shatter and the opening in the tree that previously transported Muma to the Retro Dungeon will now take Muma to Sheet Music. Re-entering Owl Swamp will require Muma to complete the puzzle again in order to visit this area.

Trivia

This world used to look significantly different until v33.2, having very flat colors and a different color scheme.
Although not seen in any currently uploaded versions, in the first release of v4.0 this world was connected to White Shores because the author believed that it was only a temporary world^[1].
In v11.0 a hole was added right near the entrance of the world that went to Sands of Time. This was removed in v12.0, with the hole being relocated to Undersea Expanse as there was already a hole with no connection in that world at the time.
In v23.0 this map got a slight visual upgrade, changing the color of the water and adding some more decorations to the map. In addition to this, the two extra owls that make squawking noises were added to the map.
