Fox Temple is an area accessible from a star found below a teleporter to the west of the main area's vending machine in Constellation World.

Features

Fox Temple is a small Japanese-themed area containing a fox shrine. Several shrine maidens, small foxes, and Ninetails can be found wandering about.

Equipping the Child effect will make most of the foxes, Ninetails, and the shrine maiden with the fox mask happily follow Urotsuki, and the shrine maidens will gain fox ears and tails. Interacting with these NPCs while said effect is equipped will alter the chimes they normally produce (except for one of the shrine maidens when sweeping). Equipping the Cake effect will make the fox-masked shrine maiden joyfully move toward Urotsuki, and this shrine maiden will bounce and have an altered chime upon interaction.

If the area is entered from Constellation World, it will be Night. Arriving via Cherry Blossom Park will make it Day and temporarily block access to the Temple's interior with the saisen box, where one can donate a small amount of 夢.

Since version 0.122i, one can interact with the southmost edge of the middle path to enter Constellation World or repeatedly walk under the torii gates for a chance to be sent to Cherry Blossom Park. In same version more NPCs were added, along with a fortune stand. Drawing a terrible luck (大橋夢) fortune will spawn the Clown chaser in Marijuana Goddess World. Drawing a 'very strange dream' (大奇夢) fortune will make the Clown chaser disappear and grant 500夢. The Shinto Shrine page lists other available fortunes.

Entering from either world places the player at the start of a path with torii gates leading up to the Temple itself. The Temple's interior cannot be entered until the Temple Interior Unlock Conditions have been met.

During in-game fall, a fox can be found under one of the trees to the side of the path. Interacting with it will cause it to disappear. There is another black fox under one of the trees, which is there regardless of the season. Interacting with it will toggle between Night and Day. During in-game winter, the trees will be barren.

If you kill any of the foxes here, incredibly fast versions of Shadow Ninetails will appear and send you to an isolated zone of Red Sky Cliff.

Temple Interior Unlock Conditions

There are multiple prerequisites to unlock access to the Temple's interior:

• Experience the Innocent Dream's event.
• Chainsaw the Tree of Life in Blood Cell Sea.
• Perform a duet with the Piano Girl in the lower section of the Tricolor Room's Picture Book (requires visiting the Titan's Pier in the Rainy Docks).

After meeting these prerequisites, equip the Ninetails mask from the Mask Shop or Deluxe Mask Shop, then go to Constellation World and enter the Night version of Fox Temple. Walk under all of the torii gates to see the corresponding flashbacks and also interact with the paper on the ground. Continue inside the Temple and interact with Shadow Ninetails to be woken up. Return to Constellation World and enter Fox Temple (no mask necessary). Go inside the Temple itself and interact with Shadow Ninetails to obtain the Shadow Ninetails mask, which places you back in Constellation World.

Trivia

• Before version 0.122, the interior of the Temple was not accessible and the Shadow Ninetails mask was not available. You were also unable to toggle between Day and Night and nothing happened if you chainsawed the foxes.
