The Decrepit Village is an area accessed through the flower bud in Blooming Blue Lagoon.

Features

The Decrepit Village and its outskirts take place in a gloomy forest, covered in fog and dotted by marshy terrain. You start from the outskirts, buried alive. Pressing the interact button will make Urotsuki bust out of the grave, allowing you to explore the surroundings. Heading down the southern path takes you to the Twisted Thickets, while taking the northern path leads to the village proper. Using the Lantern effect here will significantly reduce the amount of fog.

The village itself is a large, horizontally-looping expanse, much like the outskirts before it. It features a graveyard in the southeastern section and a well in the center, along with wooden houses, some of which are lit up, and can be entered. A stony path at the north of the village will bring you to the entrance of the Shadow Lady Estate.

Immediately near the well is a house with an open door, which features a bedroom with a small bookshelf. Behind the door is a small library inhabited by a benign Shadow Lady. Chainsawing her will get her to let out a sinister laugh, before she chases you, with the door locked as well, and getting caught will send you to a room of wall clocks. While in this state, the door can be banged open to allow Urotsuki to escape. Using the Grave will make her appear in her hostile state, where interacting with her at that point triggers a full-screen event featuring a bigger view of her face. Near the small library, you can find a teal-colored NPC. Going further east of the well is another house which contains two imp creatures having a party, one of which is drunk. Northwest of the well is a house inhabited by a small, blue-haired girl, who has a happy expression with the Twintails effect being equipped, and is revealed to be a flower if the Glasses effect is equipped. If you have provoked the Shadow Lady prior, interacting with the girl will placate the Shadow Lady. North of the well is another house, initially appearing locked, where you can find a large fossil dangling from the ceiling.

South from the well, another lit house will bring you to a house with a lit fireplace, above which the trophy head of a werewolf is mounted. On the walls are a picture of a mountain and a river, a portrait, and a mounted rifle above the bookshelf. This house is occupied by an old, red-haired woman in a red dress. If Variable #44 is less than 128, the woman will be seated in a rocking chair, knitting something; if it is above 128, the woman will be seen walking around with her cane, with the rocking chair unoccupied. Equipping the Wolf effect will turn her into a fox, changing the portrait below the picture of the mountain. As of current, the door beside the bookshelf cannot be entered.

Inside the well.

Water Well (恨み井戸, Well of Resentment)

In the village's center, there is a stone water well with a rope hanging over its lip. By interacting with the well, you can enter it and descend via the rope. In its normal state, it is made out of stone and has a shallow layer of water at the very bottom. However, if you have chainsawed the Shadow Lady inside the house slightly southeast of the well and successfully escaped, the well will change appearance dramatically, as it appears to have been taken over by flesh, teeth, and veins as you descend. At the bottom, there's an opening lined with teeth and sinew just left of the rope, which leads to the Carnivorous Pit.
