The Nexus has many variations of itself. This page list such variations.
Variations
- Corrupted Nexus: A rare glitchier version of the Nexus.
- The Second Nexus: Uses doors, more akin to the one found in the original Yume Nikki. Leads to:
- Bright Forest
- Frozen Woods
- Smiley Signs World
- Corrupted Love World
- Originator Garden (One Way)
- Removed Connection(s): Blooming Blue Lagoon
- Dark Nexus: Accessible from the Dream Pool. Features identical doors, most of which cannot be entered. The ones that are enterable lead to its various subareas and Garden of Treachery.
- Mini-Nexus: A small variant of the Nexus. The background is black and features red circles. Leads to:
- The Magic Nexus: A nexus with a green/purple variation, depending on Variable #44. Internally called the third Nexus. Leads to:
- Check-Disk Nexus: A monochromatic variant, has multiple masks and doors leading to:
- Candle Block World
- Spiral Sign Abyss
- Bloodied Mural World
- Numeral Hallways
- Bacteria World
- Urotsuki's Dream Apartments
- The Nexus (if escaped Corrupted Nexus before)
- Legacy Nexus: A green carpet maze-like variant, which is seemingly based on the design of the Nexus from older versions. Leads to:

- Blue Apartments (unlocked from the other side)
- Balloon Park (unlocked from the other side)
- Topdown Dungeon (unlocks connection)
- Concrete World (unlocks connection)

Removed Variants
These variants have been removed from the game for one reason or another.
- Glitch Nexus: A variant which used to be a sub-area in 3D Underworld. It has been replaced by Critter Village, which retains its connections. Used to lead to:
- Oblique Hell (both regular and First-Person Maze)
- Marshmallow Shallows
