Marshmallow Shallows is an area accessible by taking the right entrance from Red Sewers.

Features

Marshmallow Shallows is a pastel-colored area where a light snowfall seems to be present. The area is swathed in light pink water with large swells of pearlescent marshmallows that the player must traverse through, as well as matching conical structures. Despite the colorful atmosphere, eerie music plays throughout the area.

Upon entering from Red Sewers, the area may initially seem quite empty. A small pink spot in the water is present where, upon being stepped on and interacted with, will take Urotsuki to a small room where a uterus-like creature drips liquid into a puddle below. By weaving through the marshmallows scattering the area, the player can exit the area through an opening on the room's north side.

The second section of the area is even more densely packed with marshmallows while also containing several conical houses that can be entered. One of the houses contains Shimako sitting alone. If Urotsuki is wearing a hat, it may be given to Shimako, but she will disappear as a result. After the group of three cone houses east of the entry, snaking all the way up through the marshmallows, then heading west will lead to a cone house with a small tunnel that Urotsuki must crawl through. Once Urotsuki is inside the tunnel, a large faucet will slowly fade into view upon moving left, turning its handle. Once in full view, the faucet will begin to spew blood, taking Urotsuki to 3D Underworld.

Inside one of the cone houses is a singular lamppost, standing out of reach. Occasionally, when reentering the cone, the lamppost may be placed within reach of Urotsuki while a cycloptic creature stands behind the post. Interacting with the lamppost will take Urotsuki to a small, monochrome subarea with constant snow. Around the area are several other lampposts and a line of tall, semitransparent figures walking together. Another lamppost within the area has several monochrome variants of the 3D shape NPCs found in Kaleidoscope World, which exhibit the same behavior as the NPCs in their homeworld. Following the trail of lampposts within the area will lead to a white cone house surrounded by flashing trees, similar in appearance to the ones in Glowing Tree Path, which takes Urotsuki to the cone house containing Shimako.
