The Astronomical Gallery is an area accessible from the Exhibition and the Butterfly Garden.

Map of the Astronomical Gallery

Features

The area takes on the appearance of a museum, with several rooms filled with various points of interest. Blue-checkered tiles with ornate yellow carpets make up the decor. Several stained-glass windows line the wall, and a glimpse through them will show a starry sky. Many of the rooms are decorated with potted flowers that vary in color, and the hallways themselves are lined with brown patterned rugs. There are two paintings hanging on the walls in each of the gallery's hallways that reference various worlds or NPCs in the game, which change depending on whether the value of Variable #44 is 180 or higher.

Upon first entering the area, you will arrive in the Lower Hallway.

Lower Hallway

In the room farthest to the left, a single telescope is present. Using the Spring effect on the pile of books to the right of the telescope, Urotsuki will hop up onto the books, allowing her to peer into it. What is seen from the telescope depends on the current in-game season, with 4 possible outcomes:

  • Spring: A view of the constellations Cancer and Virgo, as well as a single blue planet.
  • Summer: A view of the sun and the constellations Sagitarius and Scorpio.
  • Autumn: A view of Dream Venus from the distance, and the constellations Pisces, Capricorn and Aquarius.
  • Winter: A view of the constellations Gemini and Taurus, A redish planet quite similar in appearence to Mars, and a silhouette of what appears to be Santa Claus.

In the room second from the left, there is a white flower that teleports Urotsuki to the Butterfly Garden when interacted with. Heading to the room farthest to the right, however, will put you in a longer room that holds several bookcases, a floor littered with papers and books, and a globe off to the right that will take you to the Exhibition. In addition to this, an owl named Astro can be found perched atop one of the bookcases, and a pile of purple, blue and green books will also appear if Variable #44 has a value between 0-40.

Going up the stairs directly to the right of this room will lead to the Planetarium.

Planetarium

This area is a much more expansive room that features a checkered tile floor, various stanchion posts in front of the area's main attractions, walls decorated with stars, and stained glass windows who pieces are shaped like flowers. Three enormous planets are found here in the center of the room: a green planet very similar to Saturn, a small red-ish planet possibly resembling Mars, and a meteorite. Different constellations can be seen floating by as well, and lights shaped like stars and moons hang from the ceiling around the planets.

This room serves as a connecting room for the two hallways. You initially start at the northernmost part of the room, and making your way south will bring you to another staircase that leads to the Upper Hallway.

Upper Hallway

This hallway only contains two rooms, and the one found by heading left from the staircase has a passage leading to a balcony. Interacting with the red spinning circle there will take Urotsuki to the Spacey Retreat. Heading right from the staircase, on the other hand, will lead you to the doors to a room with two lamps, one of which is off. Interacting with it will turn it back on and transport Urotsuki to Blooming Blue Lagoon.

Trivia

  • The colored pile of books that can appear on top of the shelf in the Lower Hallway are a reference to a popular archiving software known as WinRAR, whose logo is very similar in appearance.
    • The condition for its appearance (Variable #44 must be ≤ 40) is a callback to how WinRAR, being trialware, asks the consumer to pay after 40 days of use.
  • The paintings in Astronomical Gallery were designed by Autumn.
  • Prior to version 0.120h, Astronomical Gallery used to have a painting depicting the rooftop of Shallows of Deceit, however it has since been changed to the moon in Jigsaw Puzzle World, per the request of Kontentsu.
