The Docks is one of the dream world's deeper locations. It consists of two separate paths, many different connections, and contains the Fat effect.
Features
The Docks is a series of isolated boardwalks surrounded by deep, black water with various water lanterns decorating the surroundings. Despite its fan name, the area more closely resembles a type of boardwalk commonly featured over lakes in traditional Japanese Zen gardens, which sometimes feature old-fashioned pond lanterns similar to the lanterns in the game.
The background music is the same as Mural World, but slowed down by 50%.
Worlds
Docks A
Accessed from the Sewers. The Sea Snake and Dropfish are found near here, swimming around in the water. The Docks B can be partially seen by taking the rightmost path. There is also vending machine by the stairs leading to the third tunnel in the Sewers. This particular machine dispenses the largest and most expensive drinks, which cost 150 yen each, but have an even chance of increasing Madotsuki's health by 1 or 2 HP.
Docks B
The path you exit from the stairs of Hell. A red serpentine character with large green eyes named Mizume is found if the player goes towards the first south path. A Pirori found here will also teleport Madotsuki when interacted with, taking her to the Wilderness, just outside of the Barracks Settlement. The Fat effect can be found here as well, received by interacting with Strober on the northernmost walkway.
Directions
Docks A
Nexus → Mural World → Sewers → Docks A
Docks B
Nexus → Forest World → Face Carpet Plaza → Hell → Docks B
Trivia
- This area was gradually added onto as development progressed:
- In version 0.04, only Docks A was accessible, having a connection to the Sewers. The other sections were unused at this point.
- Version 0.06 made Docks B accessible through a pink gate in Candle World, and also added Mizume.
- Version 0.09 replaced the pink gate with a direct path to Mizume and added the small area where a Toriningen can trap the player.
- The Docks is a looping area, though this can never be experienced due to the area being enclosed. However, the noclip glitch allows the player to loop around the area.
- The unused northeast section is likely placed there to give the illusion that there is more to the Docks than what the player can explore, as it is visible in Docks A.
