The Extraterrestrial Cliffside is an area accessible from the strange pixelated houses in the Riverside Waste Facility or by repeatedly stepping over a crack in the Underground Passage.

Features

The Extraterrestrial Cliffside, true to its name, is an area set along tall and high ridges and cliffsides, inhabited by strange eggs with blue scribbles and tall eyestalk-like creatures, or perhaps machines.

The strange eggs change color when the Red Riding Hood effect is equipped. They gain eyestalks if the Glasses or Eyeball Bomb effect is equipped, and interacting with them in this form will make a sound.

From the pixelated buildings in the Riverside Waste Facility, the area opens up with a cliffside filled with several doorways, only one of which leads forward, the fourth one from the left. Equipping the Fairy or Child effect and going through the small doorway leads through the grungy tunnel to the Riverside Waste Facility. All of the others lead out to other doorways on the same cliff.

Going into the right doorway will lead Urotsuki to a large, open area, with a choice between going down the large staircase or going up into the cave entrance on the northern wall. The staircase leads to a section of cliffsides that Urotsuki can travel between by climbing weird ladder-like structures; in here she can find a portal to the Strange Poison Fields.

However, if the player instead heads north into the cave, they will find a terrifying being sitting there, with many long, strangely shaped eyes and an X-shaped mouth. Chainsawing the mouth will open it and allow you to step inside, allowing you to follow the path until you reach a strange organ on the other side. Interacting with it will allow you to access the Haunted Forest Town.

The Strange Poison Fields (キノコ草原, Kinoko Sōgen, Mushroom Meadow) is a small area accessible through a cave on the cliffsides. The ground is a strange, sickly green, the mushrooms have strange expressions, and the sound effects are overwhelming and somewhat sickening.

Heading west from the entrance, you can find a small mesa with a house on top. The house contains blue walls and violet furniture, and a construction sign. If you have entered from Underground Passage, this is the room you will arrive in.

In the far south of the fields, there is a grass pattern forming a large arrow, below which is a mushroom that will appear if the Insect effect is equipped.

Trivia

  • In one spot, the patterns on the ground of the Strange Poison Fields form an image of the famous NPC from the original Yume Nikki, Uboa.
