"Hell" is the name given to one of the largest areas in the game, also known as 'The Red Maze'.<br />
Hell (also known as the Red Maze) is a large labyrinthine area accessed through multiple warps within the dream world.
It is one of the most significant deeper locations in the dream world. Many routes from The Nexus will eventually lead here, allowing for many connections between remote areas. There are even some locations that are only reachable by finding its one entrance through this maze.

==Overview==
Hell is a very large area, consisting of narrow pathways in a maze-like format. Several worlds connect to it through Nenrikido NPCs, which themselves are connected to Nexus worlds. The background music is a low droning sound (which is shared with Graffiti World). It can become difficult to navigate, even with a map, due to repeated patterns found throughout the maze. Two of the areas are only accessible through Hell, and both contain effects.

Entry to Hell is almost always achieved by locating one of the strange geometric NPCs that can be found in various 'dead end' passages deep inside certain original locations. Some Toriningen may also send Madotsuki into isolated spots between pathways here.
Three lunatic Toriningen are scattered throughout the maze. Though they may be hard to find at first, they can cause trouble due to the narrow pathways, making maneuvering around them impossible in some cases. It is recommended to bring the Triangle Kerchief or Stoplight effects first due to this.

The navigational difficulties created by the intricacy of the maze are compounded by a number of lunatic Toriningen wandering the narrow passages. Many of the paths appear similar in shape to those elsewhere in the maze, which can be disorienting - even with the benefit of a map.
On the east side of the maze are several unique warps to other worlds. The purple gate will lead to the Dark Woods, with this path eventually ending in finding the Witch effect on Witch's Island. The staircase will take the player to the Docks B, where the Fat effect can be obtained from Strober. The red Henkei Shita found here can be stabbed with the Knife effect for a 1/256 chance of being taken to the Footprint Path alongside the other Henkei Shita.

A similar area, known as 'Mini Hell' can be found in The Bed Room of the Number World. It is discovered by stabbing the nearby Toriningen with the knife effect, then entering the third closet from the left. It is much smaller than the 'main floor' of Hell, but instead of being a maze, it is a simple crossroads with Madotsuki's Ghost standing at the center of it. This is perceived to be highly symbolic to theorists.
The west side of the maze is where all of the Nenrikido reside, which will take Madotsuki to a different location depending on the Nenrikido's shape. A lone vending machine can be found here as well, which will dispense health drinks for 130 yen each.

the entire map is her personal hell, a reflection of difficulties and struggles in her daily life in Tokyo prior to becoming hikikomori. Monotsuki moved from boonies of japan to escape her life and memories to Tokyo in hopes of pursuing interests and a change in her life. While in her city life in Tokyo was far from what she imagined. Barely having any money, Monotsuki soon relizes she can barely afford the luxuries and visit the wonders of Tokyo besides rent, in time she was gridlocked into a mundane and tiring routine; only job she was qualified in was a low paying job and consumed many hours thus leaving her very little personal time. Monotsuki's experiences matching the description of Hell map being; clausterphobic, paths that lead nowhere or back into the same place, complex, many dead ends, limted choices that leads to very few points of interests and devoid of hopes of escape, change, or improvement along with the constant sense of being chased, as these issues only festered into potential violent tendencies and contaminents that can lead to mental ilness. like a ghost in torment that nobody seems to notice her. Realizing this she finally collapses under that weight into the life of a hikikomori.

Overview

Hell is a very large area, consisting of narrow pathways in a maze-like format. Several worlds connect to it through Nenrikido NPCs, which themselves are connected to Nexus worlds. The background music is a low droning sound (which is shared with Graffiti World). It can become difficult to navigate, even with a map, due to repeated patterns found throughout the maze. Two of the areas are only accessible through Hell, and both contain effects.

Three lunatic Toriningen are scattered throughout the maze. Though they may be hard to find at first, they can cause trouble due to the narrow pathways, making maneuvering around them impossible in some cases. It is recommended to bring the Triangle Kerchief or Stoplight effects first due to this.

The west side of the maze is where all of the Nenrikido reside, which will take Madotsuki to a different location depending on the Nenrikido's shape. A lone vending machine can be found here as well, which will dispense health drinks for 130 yen each.

A similar area, known as Mini Hell can be found in the Bed Room of Number World.

Directions

There are several connections to Hell through various paths of equal length. Each of these paths leads to Hell through a Nenrikido NPC.

Trivia

• While Hell is not the largest area in the game overall, it is the largest singular room in the game.
• In previous versions of Yume Nikki:
• An object resembling a funhouse mirror could be found on the upper portion of the map. Upon interaction, it gave Madotsuki the Fat effect. This object was removed in version 0.10, and the Fat effect is now found in Docks B by interacting with Strober. However, the mirror can still be found in the Debug Room, and it still gives the same effect.
• In 0.04, only the left half of Hell was present.
• All transportation methods used a purple gate in versions 0.04 and 0.06.
