Monochromatic Abyss is an area accessible from the deepest part of the lower portion of The Rooftops.

Map of the Monochromatic Abyss.

Features

The Monochromatic Abyss is a vast, grassy expanse scattered with streetlights, rock formations, and some small buildings. All of which are rendered in a sketch-like black-and-white style reminiscent of Yume Nikki's White Desert.

The area's inhabitants are a dragonfly-like creature revealed when using the Fairy effect, and a monster on top of one of the buildings. Some of the landmarks in this area include an array of streetlights forming a corridor, as well as a group of rocks forming a heart. North of said formation is a fenced compound, where there is a group of cylinders with a hole in the side of one. Entering the hole will take you to an isolated section within The Rooftops, where you can climb the ladder down to reach CMYK Tiles World.

Occasionally, the music will change, signaling that a two-headed, Takofuusen-like creature will fly through the foreground, in a similar fashion as "It Came From Behind". Much like the aforementioned event, there is a 1/2500 probability, determined every half-second, that the creature will appear. This can happen even if the creature is already onscreen, and it will simply disappear and the other will fly across.
