Map of The Nexus

The Nexus is a single area located behind Urotsuki's dream bedroom door. It serves as the central hub of Urotsuki's dreams, eventually connecting to all of the different areas in the dream world through its initial locations.

The Nexus appears as an open, uncluttered looping area populated with many 'doors' to different dream worlds, almost all of which are actually strange objects resembling those from the world in question. While most Nexuses in Yume Nikki Fangames, and in the original, are silent circles of doors, Yume 2kki's The Nexus features shifting ambient music in the background, and a scrolling floor of either a monochromatic tribal background or a dark blue field of squares.

By using the Eyeball Bomb effect while exploring Urotsuki's dream world, you can teleport back here without having to wake up.

At the moment, there are 33 external worlds accessible from The Nexus. Most areas cannot be reached directly from The Nexus, meaning that you will need to explore a lot in order to find all of the effects and discover some of the places hidden 'deeper' within the dream world. One Nexus world is inaccessible unless the player has viewed the game's first Ending.

Trivia

  • There exist numerous other variations of The Nexus in this game, which are listed in the "Variations of The Nexus" tab above.
    • As well as these, there are many hub worlds that share a similar purpose and feel to The Nexus.
  • In older versions (known to happen between versions 0.088b-0.091c), using the Twintails effect made the Toy World portal transparent and you could step on it. The exact time when this was added is unknown, but it is after version 0.086c. This interaction was removed at some point before version 0.092h.
  • Using the Rainbow effect makes the Toy World portal multi-colored instead of blue. The oldest known version to have this interaction is version 0.092h, although it might have been added sometimes between 0.091c and 0.092h.
  • Before version 0.113e patch 4, the doors to Urotsuki's Room and Urotsuki's Dream Apartments used to change positions depending on the current value of Variable #44. In earlier versions, they both had the same colour, but by version 0.096a they were changed to have different shades: the door to Urotsuki's Room became a lighter shade than the one to Urotsuki's Dream Apartments.
  • The teleporter to Usugurai Residence changes color depending on the background of the Nexus.
    • The teleporter can also display a hovering animation when the Grave effect is equipped.
      • The teleporter itself resembles an ancient Egyptian ankh.
