Graveyard of Repentance is an area accessible by passing between the fences at the end of the Sunset Sanctum in Lonely Home.
Features
Graveyard of Repentance is an expansive town with dark buildings reminiscent of Lonely Home, rows of graves, swaying white flowers, and stone paths lit by glowing blue lanterns and hidden by dreary tall trees. Sauntering about are sacred slimes wearing headpieces resembling those of catholic nuns, which will bounce upon interaction and react to the Marginal effect in a similar fashion to blue slimes.
By heading down and taking the first available path left from the two graves that lead to Lonely Home, Urotsuki will come across a building with a poster of a red-haired character. Entering it brings her to Haniwa Hollow.
Hidden in the world is a key, which unlocks access to a door in a specific building near the Lonely Home entrance. To get to this building, follow the path to the north and east of the poster. You should see the fence separate into a wall and go up. Follow the fence upwards, and turn left, after a few seconds you should see some leaves of a tree covering up part of a fence. Go left past the leaves, and you should see an opening. From there, follow the path once more until you hit another crossroads. Go to northwest, through the trees.
This specific building is only able to be entered if:
- Your current Variable #44 value is greater than 200.
- You have interacted with the bloody bow in Thumbtack World at least once. This requires the Child effect.
- You saw Haniwa-musume in Lonely Home at least once (interacting with her is not necessary). Seeing her requires Variable #44 to be less than 200.
The key to unlock the door can be found near the entrance to the church in a hidden opening at the north-western foliage. The door will lead to a secret area with a high visual resemblance to the place where the bloody bow can be found in Thumbtack World. At the end of a path flanked by paintings of blue eyes is a portrait that can be interacted with to show a full screen black-and-white image of Haniwa-musume and the red-haired, bow-wearing girl that can be found throughout Yumebako's worlds. Exploring outside the path, a lone book can be found, surrounded by blue eye paintings. Reading the book is part of the unlock conditions for the connection to Burgundy Flats in Thumbtack World. . The book will only be present if text events are enabled. If you have visited the isolated sections of Burgundy Flats from Thumbtack World at least once, another page will be added to the book. Reading the second page will alter the music. This area also has chasers from Haniwa Hollow, which will wake you up on contact.
Close to that specific building is another hidden doorway. Inside is a softly tinted room with potted flowers, a watering can, and two seats at a table. Wandering the room is an NPC with green eyes and blonde hair. They have a green and brown outfit with an apron. They will react to the Lantern effect being equipped and used.
At the south end of the area, there is a group of buildings around a large human-like statue with their hands clasped at their chest. The buildings house rooms with cake, haniwa figures, potted trees, and slime inhabitants. In the southwest, a vending machine and a bench can be found past a row of graves. Near the vending machine, there is a doorway that leads to the Cake Shop, where one can find a red-haired NPC with a slice of chocolate cake on their head. There seems to be a large strawberry cake, a large chocolate cake, a slice of chocolate cake, and a slice of cheesecake in the shop. One can interact with the NPC to purchase an assortment of cakes for 300 Yume (夢), Alternatively using the Cake effect changes the cost to 100.
Located far to the northeast is a set of steps ascending to a warm view of the Twin Mountains. Haniwa-musume from Lonely Home will be present if the current Variable #44 value is greater than 200.
Further northeast of the vista is a church where rows of benches and a red carpet lead to a Shadow Slime at a raised altar, surrounded by blue candles.
Spoilers:
When Urotsuki first finds the Shadow Slime, it will be awake and the candles in the church will be lit. If Urotsuki interacts with it, it will take a nice nap and the candles will be extinguished. Interacting with it again will wake it up. This will toggle the difficulty level of Yumebako's worlds. When the slime is awake, the difficulty is set to "hard". If it's asleep, the difficulty is set to "easy".
While easy difficulty is active, unique chasers will disappear from the following areas: Graveyard of Repentance, Haniwa Hollow (the cake is also gone), Sea of Trees, Planter Passage, Abyssal Garden, Brutal Sewing Landscape, Torii Trail (except the Shadow ???s), and Thumbtack World (except the classic chasers, like the Shadow Gloop). In Collision World, the Shadow ???s with blue eyes will disappear, and the stampeding chasers will be dramatically slowed. The chasers will become visible and able to catch Urotsuki if the Invisible effect is used, except the Haniwa chasers.
Event-specific chasers will still appear while easy difficulty is active, like the ones in the Sea of Trees after chainsawing the twisted-looking figure. Others include the slime on an isolated island in the Sea of Trees, the isolated Shadow Bird and slime army in Rice Field, and the caged chasers in the Secret Society and Dream Precinct.
