Masks can be obtained and worn by Urotsuki in the dream world. They change Urotsuki's appearance, but they are not stored in the menu like the effects, and they will go away if you change effects or masks. Usually masks are purely cosmetic with rare exceptions. Some masks grant access to specific areas, sometimes functioning as effects.
There are three categories of masks, based on how they are obtained:
- Masks that can be bought from the Mask Shop or the Deluxe Mask Shop. These must be repurchased every time they are lost (though the Deluxe Mask Shop has spots that will reimburse you after buying a mask).
- Masks that are unlockable in the Dream Wardrobe (accessible from Urotsuki's Dream Apartments), allowing you to equip them from there.
- Masks that can be found in other locations.
There are also mask storage boxes, found in some of Bean's worlds (like Pillar Ark). These allow you to store up to four masks at a time between dream sessions. The contents of the storage boxes are shared, and a mask will be removed from storage once re-equipped. The boxes cannot be interacted with once they are full. The Dice effect can be used to cycle through the masks in the order they were placed.
Below is a list that catalogs the masks that can be worn in the game.
