i wish there were more effects added to the game, i know there’s already 34 of them (36 if you count the instructions and the dev room key), but it would be really nice to have more nonetheless

badass name for something weirdly specific, i know, but still

its premise is literally that mural world from yume nikki has two effects instead of the orthodox amount of one

(fun fact: it used to have THREE, but the poop hair was later moved to underground world)

(fun fact 2: underground world is absolutely awesome 10/10 would visit again)

so anyway yeah i want at least one 2kki world to have MWEMS, its a fascinating “abnormality” that i would be very happy to see in the game, perhaps i could make it myself even (not sure which effects it would house though… which is a big roadblock tbh)

(fun fact 3: the library from yume tsushin has MWEMS, featuring the sweeping robot and the microwave oven effects… but other than that it’s still probably one of my least favorite tsushin worlds, sorry)

places in yume nikki fangames that i really like, some of them are very underappreciated in my opinion

integer world (2kki)

this one definitely needs much more love, it already has some cool things in it despite its simplistic style, like a functioning equation of all things, and the fact that the map is actually a real QR code

i already connected to this place before, and i feel like for some people that could be their first introduction to integer world

i have no idea how to feel about that tbh

same with integer world, it has a simplistic black and white look to it, though it arguably may have less features

i still think its a pretty neat place with a rather huge potential

it has a lovely serene atmosphere and a unique… “texture”?

i don’t know how to explain it, or if it really fits since 2kki is a 2d game, but basically the world’s visual style and quirks (like the grassy panorama) make it very unique

i connected this place to usugurai residence (with permission from the og dev), and i’m glad i did, at least one person in the english 2kki discord server didn’t even know it existed, which does feel sad given how great the world looks and presumably how much effort went into making it

openbreeze in general makes very great worlds, i recommend checking their stuff out if you haven’t before

body part exhibition (tsushin)

NO CLUE HOW THE CREATOR MANAGED TO MAKE A BLACK VOID WITH A BUNCH OF DISPLAYS WITH BODY PARTS INSIDE FEEL INTRIGUING BUT THEY SURE AS HELL DID AND IT ROCKS

if i somehow ever made a tsushin world (if it would even be a possibility, probably not), i would definitely connect here and streetlight wetlands

it deserves some more attention i feel, although it has a badge on yno project which is very neat, props to the person who made it

i hope it will get more stuff in the next tsushin update (which is actually being worked on by the way)

i get that its a mix of candle world and block world from yume nikki in a sense but its still a nice place

and while i don’t like judging locations based on their connections (feels like taking credit for something else, if that makes sense), but i have to give some props for the indigo pyramid heaven connection, and how it looks like the pyramid from nikki’s candle world

i reaaaaaally like this place, it feels so unique compared to many other worlds the game has, its hard to even describe what kind of atmosphere it gives to me, it is THAT unique

the only thing i truly don’t like very much here is the random art gallery/hand hub connection, it feels… “eh” to me, mostly due to it being, well, random between those two to begin with

obelisks → burning building → desk passage → sun forest

man… that route is one of collective unconscious’ highlights for me

each world in there has its own very unique atmosphere:

• obelisks is a very dark world with bright red highlights, likely being vaguely inspired by yume nikki’s mural world, but having a more “cult” feeling to it(…? im not really sure how to describe it tbh, but it looks cool)
• burning building has an insanely cool art direction going on with its black, red and yellow color palette and rather surreal designs of the decorative NPCs
• i really dig realistic photos with the dithering effect, and desk passage is all about that
  • …it had a cool event with ZX BOY but its now removed, thats a bummer
• sun forest features a more “minimalist” art style, with heavy contrasts between the dark black ground and the bright yellows and reds seen on the objects in it
  • there’s a menu theme that heavily resembles this world, but you obtain it in burning building instead, dunno why

i may not be super interested in collective unconscious, but these worlds are definitely my favorites
